An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dietitian with a keen interest in nutrition support to join our well-respected regional intestinal failure team in a permanent role. We will consider applicants looking for full-time or part-time hours.
What you'll do
1. Attend nutrition support ward rounds, reviewing and planning the parenteral nutrition support for inpatients.
2. Support the band 7 intestinal failure dietitians by providing specialist advice to patients in the intestinal failure unit.
3. Review patients in the nutrition support and intestinal failure clinics alongside gastroenterologists, surgeons, and specialist nurses.
The intestinal failure service has strong links with the biomedical research centre for nutrition at Southampton General Hospital. You will have the opportunity to participate in service evaluation, audit, and research.

About University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust
We have a nationally designated Intestinal Failure Service providing home parenteral nutrition to patients across the South of England for over 25 years. Our specialist 17-bed unit cares for patients during assessment for parenteral nutrition, acute illness, or post-operatively. The Department of Dietetics and Speech and Language Therapy employs approximately 130 staff, offering a range of acute and community services for adults and pediatrics. You will work with three other intestinal failure dietitians supporting both inpatient and outpatient services.
