We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead growth and client acquisition for our recruitment services in the United States. The role will initially be UK-based in either Sunderland or Aberdeen with sponsored relocation to the USA in 2027. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of the recruitment sector, proven sales experience, and a passion for building long-term client relationships across various industries. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding our footprint in the US market by identifying new business opportunities, managing the full sales cycle, and collaborating closely with our delivery and operations teams to ensure client success. Superior have supported clients in 26 countries since our inception in late 2018 and our biggest growth market is the USA. We want to further penetrate that market and need a full time dedicated BDM to deliver on this. Key Responsibilities * Market Development: Research, identify, and target new clients across the US market in key sectors such as Energy, Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, Accountancy & Finance, Engineering, Chemical and Petrochemical and professional services. * Client Acquisition: Generate leads, build relationships, and convert prospects into long-term clients through consultative sales techniques. * Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy tailored to the US recruitment landscape, including pricing models, client segmentation, and sales forecasting. * Account Management: Manage and nurture client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling. * Collaboration: Work closely with internal recruitment teams to align business development activities with delivery capacity and candidate pipelines. * Negotiation & Contracting: Lead commercial discussions, prepare proposals, and negotiate client agreements to secure profitable partnerships. * Performance Reporting: Track KPIs, maintain accurate CRM records, and deliver regular performance updates to management. * Brand Representation: Represent the company professionally at virtual and in-person meetings, conferences, and networking events. Skills & Experience * Essential: * Proven success in business development or sales ideally within the recruitment industry. * Strong understanding of US employment markets, hiring trends, and client expectations. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. * Ability to work independently and manage sales pipelines across time zones. * Experience using CRM systems and data-driven sales strategies. * Desirable: * Existing network of clients or contacts within the US market. * Knowledge of compliance, contracts, and employment legislation in the US. * Experience working with agency or RPO models.
