About the role
To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Head of Education/Headteacher.
To teach a range of subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum.
In consultation with the Head of Education/Headteacher, undertake other identified areas of responsibility as necessary to ensure effective delivery of the school’s curriculum, including:
* The school’s aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies, and action plans;
* Statutory curriculum requirements and assessment, recording, and reporting of pupils' attainment and progress, such as Accelerated Reader;
* Characteristics of high-quality teaching and strategies for improvement and sustainability;
* Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement for all pupils;
* Management topics including employment law, equal opportunities, personnel, external relations, finance, and change management;
* The implications of the special educational needs code of practice for teaching and learning.
Key requirements include:
* Use of various teaching styles and approaches;
* Attainment of GCSE (or equivalent), grade C in English and Maths;
* Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent;
* Organizational skills;
* A commitment to safeguarding pupils;
* Ability and enthusiasm to collaborate with colleagues;
* Outstanding classroom teaching potential or capacity to develop;
* Strategic thinking, tailoring lessons to student needs and abilities.
