Role description:
Our Environmental Planning team is looking for a Principal/Associate Technical Director with a strong track record in leading environmental and consenting aspects of projects, especially in the Design and Build Sector.
Your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality, or noise, in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.
You will work on diverse projects including energy, infrastructure, rail, highways, water, and mixed-use developments for private and public clients, as well as public realm and masterplanning projects.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead coordination and delivery of planning/environmental work by multidisciplinary teams, influencing project development for optimal outcomes.
* Drive business development, create project opportunities, and lead project delivery to expand our portfolio in the D&B sector.
* Enhance awareness of our services, win new opportunities, and establish new contacts.
* Manage client relationships, fostering cross-selling opportunities.
* Engage with stakeholders and consultees.
* Oversee project performance, ensuring technical, quality, commercial, and safety standards.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the global business.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Deep understanding of environmental and consenting processes, including EIA practices, case law, and sustainability principles.
* Experience working with contractors and influencing sustainable design.
* Proven track record across various project types.
* Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
* Leadership in multidisciplinary project coordination.
* Experience negotiating with authorities and stakeholders.
* Commercial acumen, including forecasting and project management.
* Relevant degree, preferably with chartered status or working towards it.
* Flexible, pragmatic, and collaborative approach.
