We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a national contractor on a local authority highways improvement program. This is a freelance role, initially for 12 months, focused on managing change and administering NEC contracts. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring commercial control, particularly around variations, compensation events, and accurate cost reporting. The role will be client facing alongside a focus on internal measures. The role has the option to pay LTD up to £550 per day. Hybrid working is available but ideally the successful candidate will be within the local area. Key Responsibilities ·Change Management: Lead on identifying, preparing, and managing compensation events and variations, ensuring they are accurately captured and reported. ·Contract Administration: Work under NEC contracts (Options A & C preferred), managing notices, payments, and contractual obligations. ·Commercial Reporting: Support with CVRs, cost forecasts, and financial reporting to ensure accurate project performance tracking. ·Subcontract Management: Oversee subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payments, and change control. ·Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, planners, and the wider commercial team to ensure aligned commercial strategy.
