Role: Electrical Construction Manager – Data Centre Project

Contract Type: Freelance / Contract (Outside IR35)
Duration: Until end of year (earliest), with potential extension
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to join a major data centre project based in Slough. Reporting directly into the Project Director (PD), you will play a key leadership role in the successful delivery of electrical packages across the project. This is a client-facing position requiring strong coordination, technical oversight, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full ownership of all electrical construction activities on site
* Manage and coordinate Construction Managers and package leads across multiple workstreams
* Oversee subcontractors ("subbies"), ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
* Drive programme adherence, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
* Ensure compliance with project quality standards, health & safety regulations, and client expectations
* Lead coordination between electrical and other disciplines (mechanical, CSA, commissioning)
* Review and manage method statements, risk assessments, and technical submissions
* Support progress reporting, commercial tracking, and change management processes
* Act as a key interface between site teams, senior leadership, and client representatives
Requirements
* Proven experience as an Electrical Construction Manager on large-scale projects
* Strong background in data centre construction (highly desirable)
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex package interfaces
* Excellent understanding of electrical systems within mission-critical environments
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure project environment

* Outside IR35 contract
