Job Description:
Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge?
Are you passionate about empowering people to live their best lives?
Do you thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment?
Then this could be the job for you!
Due to the retirement of the current post holder, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Safeguarding team as the Operational Team Manager.
You will lead an integrated multi-disciplinary team to empower people to take control of their lives and take steps to protect themselves and live a life free from neglect or abuse. You will provide day-to-day operational management of the safeguarding hub (MASH) and support professional development to promote choice and person-centered support. You will foster a culture of good practice and continuous improvement, focusing on the 6 core safeguarding principles of the Care Act 2014.
Living and working in Hull offers a great quality of life. This is an opportunity to join a supportive, friendly, caring team where your contributions are valued. You will receive regular supervision, support from colleagues and managers, and opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
* A strong value base that informs human rights-based approaches with adults
* Recognition that people are the experts in their own lives
* A relentless commitment to quality and best practice
* Honest, critical reflection and openness to learning
* Ability to establish effective professional relationships with partners, colleagues, adults, families, and carers
You will provide expert advice to operational teams, senior managers, and elected members by offering professional guidance and initiating appropriate actions in response to safeguarding issues, including updating plans and priorities based on legislative or policy changes. Critical to this role is the ability to influence, motivate, and develop accountability and confident safeguarding practices. You will work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to embed a culture where ‘safeguarding is everyone’s business’.
What we are looking for from you:
This role is suited for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with extensive safeguarding experience. Your understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and guidance will ensure high standards of practice. Strong relationship-building skills, an empathetic approach, excellent organizational and project management skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication abilities are essential. You should be persuasive and influential in driving change. Our team values personal development, and you will be encouraged to participate in training to build your skills and advance your career.
