Charity Shop Manager – Hythe
Location: Hythe, Southampton
Contract: Permanent, full time, 35 hours per week over 5 days
Salary: circa £24,000 per annum

Overview
We are opening a new shop in the heart of the Waterside and need a shop manager to establish the store, engage the local community and support our volunteers and customers. The role involves recruitment, training and support of volunteers, day‑to‑day operations, visual merchandising, stock planning and community promotion.
Responsibilities
* Recruit, train and support volunteers to ensure the shop runs smoothly and efficiently.
* Oversee day‑to‑day activities, including visual merchandising and stock quality, to grow the business.
* Use retail management experience to drive sales and engage customers.
* Develop and implement local promotion strategies to increase volunteer participation and donations.
* Coordinate opening hours (Mon‑Sat 09:00‑17:00) and adjust shifts as business needs change.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
* Retail management experience.
* Commercial awareness to deliver sales.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong external relationships.
* Good IT skills and basic finance understanding.
* People management experience.
* Excellent customer service skills.
