An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic qualified Qualified CBT Psychological Therapist to become part of the integrated mental health and justice pathway working within the 3 local prisons across Norfolk. You will be welcomed into the prison IAPT services, which is a small, highly experienced and supportive team with enthusiasm to make a difference. Therapeutic modalities offered within the service include CBT, CAT, counselling and EMDR. The post holder will have excellent therapeutic skills, cultural competency and be able to be responsive and flexible in working within the busy prison environment.
Responsibilities
 * Provide therapeutic assessment and treatment interventions to the prison population, based at HMP Wayland/HMP Norwich/HMP Bure.
 * Engage with individuals who may not have previously connected with mental health services; empower them with skills to establish and sustain a fulfilling life on release.
 * Manage an autonomous caseload with support from the wider team.
 * Engage in partnership working with prison services, drug and alcohol services, mental health teams and medical teams to ensure holistic care.
 * Travel across three prison sites; maintain ability to drive and travel independently as required.
Qualifications
Essential
 * Health or Social Care professional qualification (RMN, Dip OT, Clinical Psychology, Diploma in Social Work or equivalent).
 * Postgraduate diploma in CBT or CAT or family therapy or equivalent.
 * Post Graduate Diploma in CBT/High Intensity Psychological Therapies; Professional registration and BABCP Accreditation as a CBT/Therapist.
Desirable
 * Other qualification in therapies (EMDR, CAT).
Experience
 * Documentary evidence of continuing professional development; Group work in mental health; Ability to deliver other therapeutic approaches (e.g., DBT, EMDR, IPT).
 * Extensive experience in specialist assessment skills in CBT/Therapies.
Desirable
 * Working within a Forensic or secure setting; substantial experience in managerial/clinical supervision of others' casework, particularly in an IAPT context.
Knowledge
 * Specialist knowledge of CAT/CBT protocols and treatments; awareness of other therapeutic approaches and application.
Other
 * Accreditation with BABCP or ACAT; willingness to share skills to promote patient care; able to travel independently.
