Job Description
Portsmouth Water is seeking a MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Process) Engineering Lead for the Havant Thicket Reservoir project. This role involves supporting the Engineering Manager in delivering infrastructure development by managing design reviews, technical queries, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and timelines. The Engineering Lead will oversee specific work packages, act as a technical authority on smaller components, and ensure data accuracy for contractors. Engagement with internal teams and stakeholders is essential to align solutions and improve engineering assurance systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Chair regular meetings with Design Guardians to discuss lookahead, actions, and issues.
2. Manage responses to Technical Queries and Design Submissions from contractors, coordinating with stakeholders.
3. Monitor and review Design Guardian performance against KPIs, providing feedback.
4. Coordinate engineering requests with contractors.
5. Participate in collaborative planning with Main Works Contractors.
6. Lead weekly meetings with PW Operations to resolve queries.
7. Facilitate technical workshops for alignment on solutions.
8. Represent engineering at Early Warning meetings.
9. Provide updates and reports to the HTR Engineering Manager.
10. Review Contractors' Programmes monthly for resource forecasting.
11. Prepare engineering papers for stakeholder engagement and governance.
12. Attend regular meetings with the HTR Engineering Manager.
Requirements
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Effective stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Understanding of the design process and its commercial implications.
* Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage inputs from multiple parties and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams.
* Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field.
* Experience in design management.
