ABC Teachers are looking for a Youth Support Worker to work in SEN Schools on a day-to-day supply basis.
About the role
Behaviour Support & Regulation:
Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, focusing on positive behaviour management and emotional regulation.
Crisis Intervention:
Implement de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies to help students manage challenging situations safely and constructively.
Collaborative Support:
Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and the wider school community to ensure consistency and continuity in each pupil’s support plan and educational journey.
Personal Growth & Development:
Encourage students to build resilience, independence, and self-esteem through positive reinforcement and structured support.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Youth Support Worker in SEN Schools you will:
* Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a calm and empathetic approach.
* A genuine passion for supporting learners with additional needs.
* Experience working in a school or specialist setting (desirable but not essential).
* The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and follow behaviour plans consistently.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
* Ability to obtain suitable references and hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
* 2 years experience in a relevant field such as: such as: care, mental health, youth work, social care, outreach work, or mentoring.
