Role Description: We are hiring an experienced engineer to lead and deliver professional installations and service works. This is a hands-on role working closely with our senior engineer and project leads, with time spent on domestic and commercial sites. This role is not a trainee position. We are only considering applicants with recent, professional installation experience.
Responsibilities
* Install, programme, commission and service both CCTV and intruder alarms. Travel across England and Wales (company vehicle provided).
* First fix and second fix cabling (cat, coax and multi-core), containment, terminations and labelling.
* Configure NVR/DVR, IP cameras, PoE switches, alarm panels, keypads, expanders and peripherals.
* Networking tasks including basic IP addressing, VLAN/PoE awareness, port-forwarding and remote access.
* Test, fault find, and produce systems that are reliable, neat and fully documented.
* Communicate clearly with customers and clients, provide handover demos and usage information.
* Record works including photographing installations, filling out commissioning sheets, as well as any follow ups.
Must Haves
* Minimum two years experience in installing and maintaining security systems such as CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control.
* Over 25 years old and a valid, clean driver’s license
* Comfortable completing DBS check (or provide an existing clean certificate)
* Strong understanding of low voltage electrics, safe isolation, test equipment, and site safety. Site safety includes being comfortable working at heights and in varied environments.
* Able to work independently on small jobs and lead / coordinate on larger installations.
* Professional communication and tidy workmanship.
Nice to Haves
* Basic understanding networking principles (routers, DDNS, remote access, best practice)
* CSCS/ECS, IPAF or other site safety certifications
