Overview
Working as part of the Strategy and Planning team within the Performance, Partnerships and Transformation Directorate, the Sustainability Manager will develop and deliver the Trust’s ambitious Green Plan and achieve net zero.
Responsibilities
* Drive the development and implementation of the Trust’s green plan, ensuring alignment with NHS Net Zero goals and national policy.
* Lead cross‑functional initiatives to reduce environmental impact, improve resource efficiency and embed sustainability into operational and strategic decision‑making.
* Design, plan and deliver environmentally, socially and financially sustainable change, leading a programme of work to support the Trust’s sustainability ambitions.
* Apply a quality improvement approach to sustainability, identifying opportunities for improvement across the Trust.
Qualifications
* Significant experience delivering sustainability goals in large, complex organisations.
* Subject‑matter expert on sustainability and green policies.
* Extensive specialist knowledge in environmental science and sustainability, with a proven track record of leading net zero programmes.
* Highly experienced leader capable of engaging and influencing senior leaders and large groups of clinical staff.
* Strong communication and reporting skills, including experience presenting at Trust Board level.
