Primary SEMH Special Needs Teacher

We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teacher to join a supportive SEMH school in Great Baddow. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver differentiated, engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.
2. Create a calm, predictable classroom environment with clear routines and expectations.
3. Use trauma-informed, relational approaches to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
4. Develop and implement individual behaviour support plans, using de-escalation and restorative strategies.
5. Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCOs and external professionals.
6. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families, maintaining open and supportive communication.
7. Must be able to handle challenging behaviour
Requirements
8. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
9. Right to work in the UK
10. Availability for full-time work (Monday-Friday, term time)
11. Experience working with children with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEND is highly desirable
12. Strong communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach
13. Ability to work as part of a team and follow behaviour support plans
