We are recruiting a Clinical Psychologist to work within the Neuropsychology specialty of the Clinical Health Psychology Service at The Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester (Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust). The position is permanent and part-time (18.75 hours a week, 0.5WTE). Please see the attached job description and person specification for more details.
Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner within the Clinical Health Psychology Service (Neuropsychology and Neuro-rehabilitation specialty),
responsible for psychological aspects of neurological rehabilitation including specialist neuropsychological assessment and intervention.
To work with patients with complex health, social and psychological needs in the hospital outpatient service, and on the Stroke ward at Winchester. Please see the job description and person specification document.

Person specification
Training and Qualifications (see JD/PS document for full criteria)
Essential criteria
1. Minimum of two years’ experience following post graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society. Training to include models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology. Two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan development psychology
2. Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Desirable criteria
3. Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
4. Post-doctoral training in additional specialised area of psychological practice, preferably neuropsychology or health psychology
Experience and knowledge (see JD/PS document for full criteria)
Essential criteria
5. At least two years of specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessment and intervention with clients across a range of care settings, including community and hospital
6. Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients’ psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care coordinator and also within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan
7. Experience of working with patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions with complex needs
8. Working on inpatient stroke settings as part of a clinical team including therapists, doctors, nurses and Health Care Assistants

9. Experience of the application of psychology in different cultural contexts and experience of working within a multicultural framework
10. Experience of implementing service developments informed by audit and outcome data

Essential criteria
11. Competent in the administration and interpretation of the full range of psychological assessment instruments including tests of cognitive functioning and impairment (e.g. WAIS-IV, WMS-IV, TOPF, BADS, DKEFS, TEA, VOSP, RBANS or similar screens)
12. A high level of ability to communicate effectively, at both written and oral level, complex, highly technical and clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and a wide range of lay and professional persons within and outside the NHS
13. The ability to work effectively alongside doctors, OTs, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language therapists, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants in inpatient or outpatient Stroke settings. This includes skills in joint-working as part of a Stroke team (assessment and interventions)
