Health Collective Community Manager – Hybrid Remote and London Office
Reporting To: Head of Communications and Campaigns
Responsible For: NA
Hours: 0.8 FTE
Salary: £40-45K per annum pro rata

Location: Hybrid – Remote and London Office (occasional travel around the country will be required for regional meetings

Wellbeing of Women is the women’s health charity saving and changing the lives of women, girls and babies. Our ambition is to ensure that women’s lives are not limited by their gynaecological and reproductive health.

We do this by investing in world class research, championing education, tackling taboos, influencing guidelines, policy and practice and empowering women to advocate for themselves.
The charity is in an exciting stage in our evolution. We are coming to the end of a five-year organisational strategy that is funding groundbreaking research and driving the charity to reach more women and girls through education and advocacy campaigns.

The Health Collective is one of our central campaigns. It has emerged out of the urgent need to close the health gap for women and people assigned female at birth from marginalised communities and is made up of and led by grassroots organisations, representing voices from every marginalised community in our society.

Main Purpose of Job
The Health Collective Project Manager will be responsible for managing the development, expansion, and sustainability of the Health Collective.

This role will focus on managing and growing the existing community of members, organising and
facilitating regular meetings (both virtual and in person), content creation for social media campaigns, embedding the group’s new brand identity, and creating ways for members to share best practise and collaborate.

The role will also involve coordinating training sessions, events, and communication between the Collective and external stakeholders, including the NHS and Government. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a growing community that empowers women and people assigned female at birth and promotes health equality.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for women and people assigned female at birth to connect, learn, and share their experiences around health and well-being, as well as influencing national and local policy to reduce health inequalities (for marginalised communities).

The ideal candidate will be skilled in community engagement, digital content creation, and general communication, with a strong passion for women’s health and empowerment. This role is funded by the National Lottery until 2028.

Main Duties
Community Engagement & Growth
Actively manage and grow the online and offline community, recruiting new members from all marginalised communities and fostering a sense of trust and connection.
Design and manage regular communications with members, updating them about upcoming HC events/meetings, news/policy relevant to the inequalities agenda and funding/research opportunities.
Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain members, promoting inclusivity and engagement.
Content Creation & Communication
Create and share high-quality, educational, and influencing content across social media platforms and the website.
Collaborate with experts, healthcare providers, and advocates to produce webinars, workshops, and other community-centred initiatives.
Embed and promote the Health Collective’s new brand identity internally to members and externally to wider stakeholders.
Launch Health Collective social media channels to cement brand identity and provide a space for members to connect.
Event Coordination
Plan, organise, and manage virtual and in-person health collective meetings, liaising with members to determine the agenda and experts to find a diverse range of speakers.
Collaborate with external partners to enhance event quality and reach.
Monitoring, evaluation & reporting
Record and monitor the Collective’s activities (output) and their effectiveness (impact) through data collection, surveys, interviews and case studies.
Report on project progress and update the Wellbeing of Women team regularly.
Report on project progress to National Lottery at least twice a year with information about the Collective’s outputs and impact along with an expenditure budget for the period.
Work with an external consultant to assess the Collective’s impact annually.
Advocacy
Work with the Head of Comms and Campaigns to build relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and organisations aligned with the collective’s mission.
Monitor news and political developments relevant to the Health Collective’s work.
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
Experience working with grassroots organisations.
Experience in stakeholder engagement and community building.
Experience in social media management and content creation.
Experience in event planning and management.
Commitment to improving women’s health
Desirable
Familiarity with digital community platforms (e.g., Health Unlocked) and online forum management.
Background in advocacy or campaigning.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent written communication skills, particularly being able to adapt approach to suit those with varying levels of digital knowledge.
Strong interpersonal communication skills including negotiating and presenting.
