Specialist Dietitian - Diabetes

Are you keen to work in a specialist role within the diabetes team here in Harrogate. This post gives the opportunity to build on your experience of dietetic management of people with Diabetes.
Due to a maternity leave within the dietetic department we have an exciting opportunity for a part‑time (0.75 WTE) Specialist Dietitian to join our team for 12 months.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be part of the Diabetes service, supporting consultant clinics, delivering structured education and outpatient dietetics clinics.
This post is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience and knowledge base in delivering education and working as part of the Diabetes MDT. The post holder will also support work to other departmental projects, audits and supervision.

Job responsibilities
Harrogate Nutrition and Dietetics service is an enthusiastic, empowered, inclusive team that supports and lives the Trust's values. We welcome dietetic students on A, B and C placements largely from Leeds Beckett university and the successful post-holder will be expected to take part in pre‑registration training.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Recognised degree or post graduate qualification in Human Nutrition & Dietetics
* UK Registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council for minimum of 1 year
* Member of the British Dietetic Association or other professional indemnity insurance
Experience
* Minimum 1 year post qualification dietetic experience in a healthcare setting
* 6 months post graduate experience of diabetes
* Experience of delivering patient education
* DAFNE trained
* Knowledge of national strategies and evidence based practice related to diabetes

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
