Barnsley FC is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Lead Academy Performance Analyst to take the lead in delivering cutting-edge performance analysis across our Academy. In this pivotal role, you’ll be instrumental in developing the next generation of talent—providing tactical, technical, and physical insights that directly impact player growth and team success. You’ll head up analysis for our U18s, support the U16s, and oversee performance analysis across all Academy phases. From match day coding to training session breakdowns, your work will be central to our strategic goals and aligned with the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP). Performance Analysis • Lead the performance analysis provision for the U18 age group, including match day coding, live feedback, and post-match reporting. • Provide detailed opposition analysis in both video and statistical formats. • Deliver individualised player analysis using clips, KPIs, and performance metrics. • Capture and analyse training sessions to support coaching objectives. • Interpret data from GPS and other performance tools to identify trends and inform decision-making. Academy-Wide Support • Support and mentor Academy Performance Analyst Interns working with the U16s. • Oversee analysis provision across the Foundation and Youth Development Phases. • Maintain and develop master databases for video and statistical data. • Ensure all analysis is uploaded and regulated via the PMA system. Collaboration & Development • Work closely with colleagues across the academy to implement effective procedures for data collection, management, analysis, and presentation. • Develop and maintain post match analysis measures across the FDP and YDP • Contribute to ongoing staff and player education through workshops and presentations. • Engage in CPD activities organised by the Club and external providers. Match Day Duties • Provide live coding and feedback during matches (home and away). • Assist in post-match debriefs with video and data presentations.
