Responsibilities
As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist our patients and customers to deliver an exceptional experience. Technicians assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and we provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations. Technicians operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication. They contribute to a safe and inclusive culture where all people feel valued and empowered.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Following all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health
* Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
* Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, assisting with immunizations and other services, and solving or escalating patient problems
* Completing basic inventory activities as directed by the pharmacy leadership team (e.g., stocking deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories)
* Contributing to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and expanding clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients
* Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs; may travel to stores in the market as needed
* Understanding and complying with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy
* Delivering additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing) where allowed by law and training
Where permissible, the Pharmacy Technician may also support immunizations, including additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status, education for patients about vaccines, monitoring for adverse reactions, and vaccine supply management.
Required Qualifications
* Must comply with state board requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
* If state requirements do not specify, must be at least 16 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (or be actively enrolled)
* State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
Essential Functions
* Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
* Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
* Attention and Focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot between tasks, ensure prescription information and labeling accuracy
* Customer Service and Team Orientation: collaborate with colleagues and assist patients respectfully
* Communication Skills: clear verbal and written communication; active listening
* Mathematical Reasoning: compute days supply, quantities, and prescriptions
* Problem Resolution: identify and address challenging patient or colleague interactions
* Physical Demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, typing, bending, visual acuity, and ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
* Other duties as directed by supervisor or manager
Preferred Qualifications
* 1-3 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
* Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings
* Ability to work across the market and in-home store locations as needed

The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $16.00 - $25.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade. Actual offer depends on experience, education, geography and other factors.
