Main Responsibilities:

Purpose of Role: You'd be dealing with residents whose housing benefit claims have been rejected or suspended, meaning they're facing rent arrears and housing instability. There are rejection letters which need collecting, these are the cases that need urgent attention. Subsequently there are a further more which are being assessed that will need monitoring and information collated and submitted in a timely manner, ensuring HB deadlines are adhered to at all times.
Housing Support Experience is Essential:
* Understanding exempt accommodation regulations and how HB applies differently
* Experience working with vulnerable client groups who may have complex needs
* Knowledge of what documentation is typically required and how to help residents obtain it
* Understanding the relationship between support workers, residents, and benefits systems
* Familiarity with local authority processes and how to navigate bureaucratic challenges
