Apprenticeship Opportunity – Inclusion: Behaviour Support Assistant Required September 2025
Grade/Salary: £ per hour for the first year of apprenticeship.
Grade 4 – SCP 5-9 (after apprenticeship completion)
Location: Crosby Primary School, Normanby Road, Scunthorpe, DN15 6AS
Hours: 32 hours per week term time only
As an apprentice you will:
• work alongside experienced staff
• gain job-specific skills
• earn a wage and get holiday pay
• study towards a related framework (usually one day a week)
Working within our Inclusion Team and under the direction of the Behaviour Support Officer, this new role will contribute to maintaining a positive learning environment, managing challenging behaviours and implementing behaviour support processes.
We are looking for someone who:
• Can remain calm under pressure;
• Can provide emotional support and encouragement to children who are disengaged or present with challenging behaviour;
• Can identify opportunities to re-engage disaffected pupils and impact positively on their learning, behaviour and attendance.

About this apprenticeship:
• You will be required undertake training towards an appropriate Apprenticeship Standard
• You will have full support from your training provider
• You will be required to attend training in Scunthorpe once a week
• You will gain a Teaching Assistant Qualification.
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
• You must hold English and Maths GCSE A-C or 4+ or working towards
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Able to use own initiative
• Act professionally and respectfully within the whole school community.
• Be a positive role model.
• Commitment to complete full North Lincolnshire Council induction within set time scale (once successful)
• Commitment to self-improvement through reflective practice.
• Commitment to whole apprenticeship programme
