Overview
Interim Head of Safety, Effectiveness & Compliance – South East NHS provider. Senior leader responsible for safety, effectiveness, and compliance across complex healthcare systems.
Responsibilities
* Lead multiple specialist teams—including patient safety, health and safety, clinical audit, and medical devices.
* Embed robust governance frameworks and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
* Report into the senior governance structure and ensure compliance with national standards.
* Support incident investigations (including PSIRF) and deliver insights through thematic learning and risk triangulation.
Experience and Qualifications
* Solid track record in healthcare governance and safety, ideally at Band 8b or above.
* Knowledge of Datix, PSIRF, and regulatory assurance reporting.
* Experience with clinical audit strategies and health and safety compliance.

* Rate: Band 8b NO-HCAS – £38.30 per hour
* Location: South East
* Duration: 3–6 months
* Start: September 2025
