What is the Explore Your Future: Accountancy Placement Programme?
As part of the Explore Your Future: Accountancy Placement Programme, you will be involved in three areas of the accountancy sector, Audit, Tax and Forensics. You will gain hands on experience, gaining a real-life insight to the life of an accountant alongside personal and professional employability tips.
Audit
You'll be engaging with a variety of clients. You will examine company accounts, test financial systems, and ensure businesses are presenting a true and fair view of their performance. You'll learn how to assess risk, verify transactions, produce audit working papers and contribute to providing assurance that helps clients meet regulatory requirements and make informed decisions.
Tax
When working as part of the Tax team you will gain exposure to a wide range of clients. You'll work with businesses to ensure they meet their corporate tax obligations alongside analysing financial data, identify tax-saving opportunities, prepare tax returns and advising clients on how to stay compliant.
Forensics
In Forensics, you'll gain exposure to investigations, analytics, and business intelligence. Your work may include reviewing financial statements and invoices, analysing trends and bank data, researching industry activity, preparing market insights, and contributing to both project work and wider business development initiatives. You'll be involved in both project work and wider business‑development activities across the forensic practice.
Information On The Placement Programme
This opportunity is open to current university students, recent graduates, or those who have studied their AAT, who are looking to explore a career in accounting.
This is a full time, in-person role based in our Birmingham office (9:00–17:15). You must be available to attend the office Monday-Friday.
A laptop will be provided for your use during the placement year.
This position will start in July 2026 and will be a 12 months placement.
Minimum requirements: 112 UCAS points at A Level/ Grade B or above in GCSE Maths & English/ Predicted or achieved 2:1 degree classification.
