Job Description:

The primary goal of the Sustainability Scheme Manager is to support the Carbon & Sustainability Services Director in building a successful team, overseeing activities, ensuring compliance, and developing market-leading sustainability services. The role involves increasing visibility within our client base and the broader sustainability sector, with evolving responsibilities aligned with NQA’s strategy.

This role will cover the entire NQA Carbon and Sustainability portfolio, including Chain of Custody, Supply Chain Services, and PEFC, to strengthen our service offerings and position NQA as a global leader.

The market is rapidly growing and changing; the role requires proactive engagement with the team and sector to manage effectively and enhance visibility.

The position will have direct line management of four NQA managers.

Location: Flexible. Remote, on-site, or hybrid working considered. Willingness to travel is expected.

Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in environmental, sustainability, business management, or related fields. At least 2 years’ experience in certification or industry. Knowledge and enthusiasm for sustainability and carbon verification schemes. Completion of relevant Lead Auditor/Verifier courses is required.

Skills & Competences: IT literacy, people management, confident communication, customer service, self-motivation, interpersonal skills, knowledge of management standards, auditing experience, sustainability knowledge, public speaking experience, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Personal Attributes: Professionalism, relationship-building, initiative, organization, interest in sustainability, influence, and adaptability.
