Futures are working with a manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Bradford going through a period of continued growth. They’re looking to hire a Technical Service Engineer to work on high-voltage equipment at customer sites, supporting installation, commissioning, servicing, and fault resolution. This is an excellent opportunity for an HV engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, autonomy in the field, and being the technical expert on site. As a Technical Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting customers off-site, ensuring high-voltage equipment is installed, commissioned, and maintained safely and efficiently. You’ll be the face of the business on site, trusted to resolve complex issues and maintain high safety and quality standards. You’ll work closely with internal engineering and manufacturing teams, feeding back real-world insights to help improve product performance and service delivery. Roles and Responsibilities: Installing, commissioning, servicing, and maintaining high-voltage electrical equipment at customer sites Diagnosing and resolving HV electrical faults to minimise downtime Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance activities Working from electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with HV regulations and site procedures Acting as the technical point of contact for customers on site Completing service reports, test documentation, and handover paperwork The ideal Candidate: Strong hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical equipment (e.g. switchgear, transformers, substations, HV systems) Proven background in field service, commissioning, or site-based electrical work Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills Comfortable working independently at customer sites Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel HV Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status Background in manufacturing, industrial, or heavy engineering environments Commissioning or testing experience Customer-facing technical support experience
