Location: Basingstoke, Warminster, Chippenham, Reading • Job type: Permanent • Hours: 37.5 hours with overtime available • Salary: £24,570 pa
Responsibilities
* The role involves visiting various sites, primarily undertaking field measurements of water quantity (flow), depth, quality, rainfall, etc.
* Installing, operating, and maintaining telemetry logging equipment.
* Working outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights; comfortable working in water and in confined spaces.
* Use of power and hand tools as part of field operations.
* Demonstrates awareness of potential risks and safety protocols; follows safety practices.
* Travel as required and hold a valid UK driver’s license for 12 months or more.
Qualifications and Experience
* Passion for working outdoors in all weather conditions and in water; strong swimming skills are desirable.
* Good level of computer literacy (MS Word, Excel).
* Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant environmental field (e.g., Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, etc.).
* Experience with Hydrometric field data collection is beneficial but not essential; full training provided.
* Experience with hands-on tasks using power and hand tools.
* Able to travel and stay away from home as needed.

* Self-starter, dependable, flexible/adaptable, proactive.
* Strong communicator; ability to work to deadlines.
* Team player who can also work independently; passion for the water and environment sector.
* Career advancement potential within the organisation.
Desirable Training (Not Essential)
* Working at height; confined space entry; first aid at work; water safety; water hygiene.
* Hydrometric techniques; SSSTS; CSCS.
