The Senior Healthcare Assistant (HCA) will work within our community services, including the Hospice at Home (HAH) team, the Wellbeing programme, and Rapid Response (RR), a shared service with South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust. The role primarily involves working within HAH and the Wellbeing programme, with shifts seven days a week from 8am to 8pm. There may be occasional rotations to the Rapid Response team, which includes night shifts from 8pm to 8am.
In the HAH team, the Senior HCA provides high-quality palliative and end-of-life care to patients and their families in their own homes. You will collaborate closely with community and hospital colleagues from the NHS, social services, care homes, and voluntary providers to support patients who prefer to die at home.
Within the Wellbeing programme, the Senior HCA supports patients, families, and carers in hospice settings to enhance their quality of life, promoting reablement and well-being models of care.
When required, the Senior HCA will work with the Rapid Response team, which operates 24/7, alongside an experienced qualified palliative care nurse to deliver urgent care for patients with uncontrolled symptoms needing immediate intervention.
Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 per year, pro rata.
