Purpose of the role To manage contractors and staff in the absence of site management in line with responsible person duties (per education/qualification section). To organise the loading of lorries delivering or collecting sand and gravel, limestone, concrete, asphalt, and inert waste from the quarry. To produce computerised weight tickets for lorries delivering and collecting sand and gravel and inert waste. To answer telephone enquiries and direct to the correct department either at site level, Regional level or national level. To receive visitors to the site and direct to the correct department. To carry out various administrational duties pertaining to the weighbridge operations and end of month stocks. Ensure and check materials leaving the site comply with Company quality requirements. To undertake other duties within their scope in the office in accordance with the Site Management. Ensure politeness and punctuality at all times. To ensure correct operation of the cash sales procedure. Responsibility to pass on any health and safety changes at site to hauliers. Operate, inspect and maintain the sand and gravel processing plant in order to produce materials which comply with the Company quality specifications. Maintenance and repair of the plant within their scope and competence and keep accurate records in accordance with management requirements. Operating and re-fuelling of both static and mobile plant in a safe manner. Adhere to all Company policies and guidelines. Comply with Company health and safety and environmental procedures. Key accountabilities Ensure responsible person role in adhered to at all times in line with policy’s Correct operation of the weighbridge as per the procedures. Correct operation of the cash sales procedure. Ensure compliance with Competition Act. Ensure Company information is dealt with as per the Company procedures. To operate the mobile and static plant in a safe and efficient manner. To maintain plant to good order physically in accordance with manufacturers and H eidelberg Materials recommendations. To complete near miss reports as required by Site Management. Good timekeeping. Education/Qualification Good general education is as a large amount of health and safety regulations and quarry regulations are required to be understood and carried out. To work towards and attain MQPC certification in mobile plant operations and NVQ level 2 certification in mobile plant, static plant and weighbridge operating.
