Overview
SEA is going through an exciting period of expansion, as we continue to deliver cutting edge defence engineering technology to a wide range of customers. Assembly Technicians will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role does require being onsite 5 days a week. The salary for this role is up to £28k, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
* Working in a multi-skilled production team you will be responsible for providing assembly and machining support to Production and Engineering teams.
* Work closely with the Wiring Technicians, Test Technicians and Engineers to ensure our products are delivered to customers on time and with the highest quality standards.
* Provide training support for company apprentices to gain experience with machine tools, develop skills, promote shop health & safety and instill a culture of good housekeeping.
* Follow instructions to create a full assembly using a mix of electrical and mechanical assembly skills.
* Handle small parts with good fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination; perform precise tasks.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other team members.
* Analyze issues and develop solutions to keep the assembly process running smoothly.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be based in Barnstaple; onsite 5 days a week. You will be part of a team delivering assembly and machining support to Production and Engineering, ensuring high quality standards and on-time delivery. Training support for apprentices to gain experience with machine tools and enhance skills is part of the role.
The skills you need
* You don’t need to have any prior experience of engineering—we’ll provide full training. Open mind to learn new skills in a manufacturing environment, and a positive attitude toward delivering results.
* Fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and good communication skills are necessary.
* Have practical skills with attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
