Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, Morrison’s and Waitrose in the UK.
The purpose of this role is to successfully transfer recipes from kitchen to the factory, ensuring that they meet agreed customer specifications through an efficient manufacturing process. Manage the process team to ensure high quality products are taken through from concept to launch.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and improve operational processes, enhancing efficiency and productivity
* Manage the process team to a high standard providing necessary support and training.
* Lead key customer visits, leading the NPD processes alongside production and the technical process team
* Communicate with key customers keeping them up to date throughout the process
* Maintain thorough and accurate documentation from handover to launch alongside the process team
* Deal with numerous projects, taking them from concept to launch in accordance with strict critical path with all associated documentation.
* Take responsibility for short term or long-term projects as required.
* Completion of documentation and recipe record keeping on recipe system.
* Understand site capabilities and attend development trials when necessary.
* Manage process team to a high standard providing necessary support and training. Managing day to day workload.
* Lead by example by adhering to Company general policies, i.e., Food Safety, Health Safety, Absence, etc.
* Undertake other appropriate duties as deemed necessary within the scope of the role
* Ensure Food Safety compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to remain audit-ready at all times.
* Contribute to the development of a culture of Integrity, collaboration ‘do the right thing’ approach in all interactions.
Essential Criteria
Third level food science / technology or food related qualification
NPD experience within food manufacturing
IT literate – proficient in MS packages
Exceptional time management and organisational skills
Analytical approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Desirable Criteria
Relevant post-graduate qualification
Evidence of recipe creation within chilled fresh food industry
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present information
