JOB SUMMARY
The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission invites applications for the position of Destination Host (Full-Time). The successful candidate will provide exceptional guest services in an efficient and professional manner while delivering accurate information to visitors and the travelling public at the Territory's Ports of Entry. This role plays a key part in enhancing the overall visitor experience and supporting the British Virgin Islands tourism product.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintain a thorough and current knowledge of the British Virgin Islands tourism product, including culture, historical sites, attractions, accommodations, and land and sea transportation.
* Provide accurate information and effectively articulate the BVI product to visitors in person and respond to inquiries via telephone, email, or internet within 24 hours.
* Monitor the Board's website and Facebook page daily to ensure information is current and report discrepancies to the Destination Host Coordinator.
* Assist with the preparation and collation of tourism-related information for local distribution.
* Provide arrival and departure updates for ferries and airlines.
* Direct visitors to relevant services, attractions, Sister Islands, and amenities to enhance their overall experience.
* Assist with meet-and-greet services when required.
* Enter Immigration cards into the central statistics unit and conduct exit surveys.
* Observe all assigned security and safety protocols.
* Make recommendations for authentic British Virgin Islands experiences to ensure maximum visitor enjoyment.
* Maintain clean and organized workspaces and ensure brochure racks are fully stocked.
* Assist with BVIP services, including processing applications, entry documentation, and attending to VIP guests.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local attractions, services, and events.
* Perform any other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or a member of the Executive Team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
* High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
* One (1) to two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
* Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
* Frequent outdoor work at Ports of Entry.
* Frequent extended working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
