Hedgerow’s short breaks residential service is looking for motivated people to work in our service to support adults with learning disabilities, empowering individuals to make informed choices about their support, activities in house and out in the community.
Hedgerows is located in Staplehurst, close to Maidstone.
Hedgerows offers short break stays for up to four people, giving them and their caregivers a break. It’s a rewarding role, and due to the service offering short breaks, you get to know many different people who stay at Hedgerows, with each stay being unique. You will assist with all aspects of personal care, observing dignity and respect, and encouraging independence skills.
This is a part-time position following a four-week rolling rota system, including early/late shifts, some nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Flexibility is essential to meet business needs, with opportunities for extra hours.
The annual salary ranges from £26,393 to £27,713 pro rata (£13.72 to £14.41 per hour), with enhancements for bank holidays, a sleep-in allowance of £40.76, and potential overtime pay, increasing the overall salary.

After a thorough induction, you will support and respond to each person to ensure their safety, providing comfort, stimulation, and reassurance for an enjoyable stay.
Requirements:
* Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it within two years
* Completion of the Care Certificate if not already held
* Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or Autism
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
* Ability to take personal and professional responsibility
* Capability to work independently and as part of a team
* Skill in recording, reporting, and monitoring daily activities
