Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward‑thinking pharmacy technician to join our clinical pharmacy team. The successful candidate will participate in the delivery of a patient‑focused clinical service to patients receiving chemotherapy treatment, receive full training to assess patients and administer SACT, support governance and patient safety, participate in pre‑assessment clinics, support accuracy checking, and cover weekend and bank holiday rosters.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Provide technical support on pharmaceutical matters, medicines management issues and medicines legislation within a delegated area on a routine basis and in specialist settings such as ward/clinical setting and aseptic services. Participate in the weekend pharmacy service and relevant bank holiday arrangements. Role model compassionate and inclusive leadership, promote quality improvement, facilitate teamwork and collaboration across organisational boundaries.
Qualifications
* BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent supported by appropriate underpinning knowledge).
* Regional Qualification or equivalent for Medicines Management for Pharmacy Technicians.
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Evidence of relevant specialist continuing professional development.
* Completed an appropriate accredited technician checking qualification (e.g., Regional Scheme, Buttercups).
* A1 or equivalent NVQ assessor qualification.
* IT skills including pharmacy systems, Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Evidence of CPD and revalidation where appropriate.
Experience
* Extensive relevant experience working in pharmacy, post‑qualification, as a qualified/registered pharmacy technician.
* Knowledge of the operation of Hospital Pharmacy Services.
* Experience of working at ward level or in a clinical setting, or primary care setting.
