Compliance Officer - Asbestos
Our client is seeking a Compliance Officer – Asbestos to join their team and play a pivotal role in ensuring safety and compliance in asbestos management.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead with Purpose: Take an active role in delivering our mission, promoting motivation and purpose within your team.
* Build Relationships: Foster effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, external partners, and multi‑agency groups to ensure service effectiveness.
* Promote Safety Culture: Embed a proactive health and safety culture within the organization as part of the compliance team.
* Manage Asbestos Compliance: Oversee the effective day‑to‑day management of asbestos safety and compliance, ensuring all statutory obligations are met.
* Technical Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert in asbestos safety, providing advice, training, and support as needed.
* Data Management: Ensure accurate records of inspections, assessments, and compliance actions are maintained.
* Continual Improvement: Identify opportunities for service improvement in asbestos safety and compliance.
* Training & Development: Facilitate training for staff and contractors to ensure competency in asbestos safety procedures.
Your Day‑to‑Day
* Conduct audits and manage data related to asbestos safety and compliance.
* Investigate and resolve any irregularities or non‑compliance issues.
* Develop safe systems of work and risk assessments to eliminate unsafe practices.
* Contribute to the governance and performance monitoring framework for compliance safety.
* Train and advise stakeholders on asbestos safety and compliance matters.
What You Bring
* A Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area (Asbestos compliance, Health and Safety).
* P402 and P405 qualifications, or equivalent.
* Proven experience in a technical asbestos role.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
* A robust understanding of legislative frameworks regarding asbestos safety and compliance.
* IT illiterate.
