Your new role As an Accounts Senior, you’ll take the lead in preparing client accounts, ensuring they meet professional standards and are delivered within agreed timescales. You may oversee the work of junior colleagues—providing guidance, reviewing outputs, and taking on more advanced responsibilities such as finalising accounts and preparing tax calculations for senior review. You’ll play a key role in maintaining strong client relationships, managing budgets effectively, and adapting work schedules to align with client priorities and deadlines. With a focus on quality and service, you’ll identify opportunities to add value while confidently navigating client challenges. You’ll offer support and mentorship to the wider team, sharing your expertise and delivering feedback that helps others grow. You’ll also know when to resolve queries yourself and when to involve more senior specialists, ensuring every project runs smoothly. What you'll need to succeed You will ideally hold professional accountancy qualifications – ACCA or ACA or will be qualified by experience. You must possess significant accounts preparation experience gained within an accountancy firm with a broad client portfolio and a strong level of knowledge of UK accounting standards. Additionally, you will ideally have gained experience reviewing the work of more junior colleagues.
