Offer description

Say hello to the NDA group graduate programme

Graduates are fundamental to our future. Our programme focuses on supporting talented and ambitious graduates to build a first-class foundation for a rewarding career in the nuclear sector.

Our graduate programme covers all aspects of nuclear decommissioning, from the breaking down of nuclear reactors, to the safe transport and treatment of waste, to the restoration of sites for new purposes.

Throughout the programme, you'll rotate across departments to gain hands-on experience in power systems, electronics, telecommunications and control systems across the full nuclear lifecycle. You'll contribute to decommissioning projects, plant operations, safety assessments, inspections, design and maintenance, all while helping to develop and integrate cutting-edge technologies in a sector ripe with opportunity and challenge.

You'll also join our core behavioural development stream to hone your communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills. We'll support you every step of the way as you work towards Chartered Engineer status, preparing you for specialist technical roles or future leadership positions within the NDA group.

Recent graduates have applied their skills to carry out electrical isolations and confirm safety compliance before critical interventions, re-energise legacy pond systems to restore essential services, and plan detailed reactor surveys to inform decommissioning strategies. They've led the integration of Boston Dynamics' SPOT robots into confined spaces for remote inspection, used LiDAR mapping to create precise 3D models of complex facilities, and performed live modifications of PLC programmes to optimise control logic on active plant. Alongside these tasks, they've designed and implemented bespoke electrical systems gaining real ownership of projects that directly influence the safety and success of our national decommissioning effort.

We are looking for individuals who can thrive in both collaborative and technical environments. If you have a demonstrable set of technical skills and a passion for the nuclear sector, we highly encourage you to apply.

Why us?

Throughout your two-year journey on the NDA group graduates programme, you will be employed by Energus and complete two 12-month placements within the NDA group (three for FAR graduates).

At the end of the programme, we will support you to secure a role within the NDA group or within the wider nuclear sector.

Benefits whilst on the programme are:

1. Annual salary of £32,000
2. A comprehensive, tailored programme of professional development worth £9,900 which includes Membership of up to 2 professional institutions
3. A robust support network which includes dedicated mentor, a company lead, access to our graduate and employee networks and a pastoral care professional
4. Generously funded travel & subsidence to support with travel to training and events
5. 25 days annual leave, plus
