From the widely read Church Times to acclaimed imprints like SCM Press and Canterbury Press, the organisation plays a vital role in shaping spiritual and cultural discourse across the UK and beyond.


What You’ll Lead

* A vibrant publishing and media business, including books, periodicals, apps, and events.
* The Church Times – the UK’s only Anglican newspaper, with a growing digital presence.
* A thriving Christian bookshop near Westminster Abbey and a distribution hub in Norwich.
* Charitable initiatives supporting music, theology, and ministry to the disadvantaged.


Your Mission

As Chief Executive, you will:

* Develop and deliver a bold strategy for growth, innovation, and impact.
* Forge partnerships across the church, cultural, and publishing sectors.
* Champion the organisation’s mission nationally and internationally.
* Ensure operational excellence, financial sustainability, and strong governance.
* Inspire and lead a talented team across multiple locations.


Who We’re Looking For

You are:

* A strategic and entrepreneurial leader with a track record of transformation.
* Commercially astute, with strong financial and business planning skills.
* Deeply sympathetic to the Christian faith and ethos of Hymns Ancient & Modern.
* Experienced in publishing, media, or charity leadership.
* A collaborative and inspiring people leader, visible and approachable.
* A confident ambassador, ready to represent the organisation at the highest levels.
