Reporting to the Deputy Director of the Law Library, this position oversees and develops plans and projects relating to the primary print collection and the policies regarding its circulation and access. Additionally, it is responsible for the use of the library’s physical space and the supervision of full‑time clerical, para‑professional, and part‑time employees, including their hiring, scheduling, and training.
Essential Functions

* Oversees & develops plans and projects relating to the primary print collection.
* Formulates and enforces rules and policies regarding circulation and access.
* Sets and publicizes library opening hours and arranges for library staffing.
* Manages the library’s Alma Fulfillment/Circulation module, including maintaining and updating circulation policy settings, troubleshooting system issues, and developing statistical reports.
* Oversees library physical space, including booking and access issues.
* Monitors the physical state of the collections and library facilities, reports, and arranges for the resolution of issues.
* Along with Document Delivery, coordinates the physical delivery of library material to faculty offices.
* Manages the course reserve program and collection.

Management Responsibilities
Supervises the work of other Fordham employees who are individual contributors. Responsible for hiring, training and developing, managing performance and administering corrective action. Has significant input in compensation decisions.
Additional Functions
* Monitors and tracks patron usage of library facilities and the collection.
* Serves as a contact with Public Safety over security issues.
* Carries out social media policy and strategy.
* Contributes to the planning and management of library public programming.
* Edits, evaluates, and generates content for the website and maintains the library’s digital signage.
* Oversees the microform collection, including filing and the maintenance of viewing hardware.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
* M.L.S. or equivalent from an A.L.A. accredited library school.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a circulation department, including supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
* Experience with troubleshooting and system configuration of an integrated library system or libraries services platform, with a strong focus on circulation and course reserve management.
* Demonstrated ability to successfully initiate, track, and manage projects.
* Strong customer service skills, with an ability to resolve patron inquiries and concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
* Ability to work cooperatively and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, faculty, staff, and students.
* Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with troubleshooting and system configuration of Alma.
* Strong management experience, including a record of effectively managing, developing, and motivating staff.
* Experience with or demonstrable interest in developing & managing digitization projects.
