This role offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to inclusive education and making a meaningful difference to the lives of pupils with complex special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). All about the role: The successful candidate will teach and support pupils within the schools Complex Needs Resource Base, working closely with the SENCo, specialist staff, teaching assistants and external professionals to provide high-quality, personalised learning experiences. You will: Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to pupils with complex SEND Plan and implement personalised learning programmes linked to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes Support pupils development across communication, independence, emotional regulation and social skills Create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment Work collaboratively with a skilled team of teaching assistants Liaise effectively with parents/carers and external agencies Monitor and assess pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and SEND processes Promote high expectations for learning, behaviour and wellbeing We Are Looking For Someone Who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree Has experience delivering high-quality teaching in a primary setting Is committed to inclusive practice and supporting pupils with SEND Can adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning, communication and sensory needs Has strong behaviour management and a calm, nurturing approach Works effectively as part of a collaborative team Has high expectations for pupil progress and wellbeing Builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families Experience or Training in the Following Would Be Particularly Valuable: Teaching pupils with complex SEND Supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) Autism support strategies Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) or visual communication systems Positive behaviour support or de-escalation approaches (e.g. Team Teach or similar) Working alongside external professionals such as speech and language therapists or occupational therapists Supporting pupils with sensory or communication needs However, we welcome applications from teachers who are passionate about SEND and willing to develop their expertise through professional development.
