Overview
Field Service Technician in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom. This role is field-based, covering the Midlands region (Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Derby) with regular Monday to Friday work, 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Carry out fault diagnostics on modern diesel engines and propulsion systems, including downloading data and ECU (Electronic Control Unit) familiarity.
* Provide remote diagnostics and conditioning to identify likely faults and support resolution prior to on-site visits.
* Act as a product expert to ensure performance and availability of diesel engines in rolling stock; deliver value through customer-facing service and support.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in a engineering discipline (minimum).
* Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance of diesel engines and related electrical control technology, ECUs.
* Demonstrated fault diagnostics and remote diagnostics experience.
* Ability to undertake pre-employment checks including medicals, drug and alcohol screens; open to ex-forces candidates (e.g., RAF, Royal Navy, British Army) or engineers in Marine, Rail, Automotive, HGV or Bus sectors.
Salary and Benefits
* Basic salary of £35,000 or £37,423 per annum (dependent on qualifications & experience).
