Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching is looking for motivated Psychology graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in a SEN school in Stockport. This role is ideal for graduates interested in a career in Special Education Needs or pursuing further qualifications such as a PGCE or Education Psychology.
The position involves working with children with varying learning abilities and special educational needs. The schools support graduate development and have a track record of aiding teacher training applications.
* Location – Stockport
* Position – Teaching Assistant
* Type of work – 1:1 support for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex needs, or sensory impairments
* Start date – ASAP or September 2024
* Duration – Ongoing
* Contract type – Temporary to Permanent
* Rate of pay – Minimum £90
* Hours – 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Responsibilities:
* Supporting children with SEN
* Supporting pupils' social and behavioral development
* Building rapport and acting as a mentor
Role Requirements:
* Psychology (BA Hons) degree
* DBS check (can be arranged through Prospero Teaching)
* Safeguarding certification
* Enthusiastic attitude and commitment
* Excellent communication skills
* Previous experience in primary schools
* Knowledge of different forms of SEN
