Digital Marketing & Growth Lead
Extours – Premium History, Heritage & Hauntings Experience Provider
South West England | Hybrid | Starting at 30 Hours per week, rising to 40 hours after 12 months dependant on performance.
Extours is one of the fastest-growing heritage experience companies in the South West. What began as a single ghost walk has expanded into 40+ experiences, delivering immersive, premium history and landscape experiences across Somerset, Devon, Wiltshire, Cornwall and South Wales.
We are now seeking a commercially minded Marketing Lead to take ownership of our digital growth, advertising optimisation, brand presence and revenue optimisation.
This is not a junior social media or content creation role.
This is a professional strategic growth position.
The Role

You will be responsible for managing and developing the entire marketing function across the business, working directly with the CEO.
You will control:
* Paid advertising performance
* Organic social media scheduling and growth
* Website optimisation and SEO
* PR outreach and backlink building
* Marketing planning and forward strategy
* Content coordination across regional hosts
* Other marketing and advertising duties
You will not be expected to personally create all content, we have numerous members of the team helping with that. Instead, you will direct and coordinate content created by our regional hosts, ensuring it is strategically aligned and scheduled effectively.
Core Responsibilities:
Paid Ads & Revenue Optimisation
* Manage and optimise Meta ad campaigns
* Monitor CPA, CTR and fill rates
* Scale successful campaigns
* Conduct A/B testing
* Provide weekly performance summaries
Social Media Management
* Build and maintain structured weekly content schedules
* Ensure every region has consistent coverage
* Coordinate and direct host-created content
* Schedule and publish organic posts
* Align organic strategy with paid campaigns
Website & SEO Development
* Maintain and update website content
* Strengthen landing pages for new regions
* Write and optimise SEO-focused blog content
* Improve internal linking and metadata
PR & Backlink Building
* Develop relationships with local press
* Secure editorial features and partnerships
* Build backlinks from tourism, heritage and community organisations
* Track measurable authority growth
Marketing Planning & Forward Control
* Conduct regular performance reviews
* Identify weaker regions and plan targeted pushes and remarketing campaigns
* Draft and schedule regular marketing email campaigns
* Set structured content direction for hosts
Working Pattern
30 hours per week:
* Monday – 7.5 hours
* Tuesday – 7.5 hours
* Friday – 7.5 hours
* Saturday – 7.5 hours
(Saturday may occasionally move to Thursday or Sunday depending on campaign requirements.)
Salary & Progression
* Starting salary: £23,500 per annum (30 hours per week)
* 6 month probation period
After 12 months (subject to performance review):
* 40 hours per week
* £31,000 per annum

We're Looking For Someone Who:
* Has strong experience managing paid Meta ads
* Understands commercial performance metrics
* Has practical SEO and website optimisation knowledge
* Is confident coordinating multiple moving parts
* Can think strategically, not just post reactively
* Takes ownership and accountability seriously
Experience within tourism, heritage, culture or events is advantageous but not essential.
