The Market Risk team is at the forefront of Bloomberg’s Risk offering. We build Risk solutions for buy-side and sell-side clients in the Terminal and APIs, using a wide range of technologies to manage our distributed calculation farm handling billions of computations daily. Our recent work includes speeding up VaR calculations and scaling our calculation farms horizontally.
Responsibilities
* Work directly with product owners to develop products for complex problem-solving.
* Take ownership of technical solutions, development, and delivery to production.
* Develop across all application layers, from client to server.
* Learn and utilize necessary programming languages, primarily C++.
Minimum Qualifications
* Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Hands-on experience in developing risk solutions using C++ or similar object-oriented languages.
* Experience building software applications in the Fintech domain.
* Deep understanding of Market Risk, including full valuation VaR, stress testing, and risk factors impacting security valuations.
* Knowledge of cross-asset pricing and valuation.
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
* Design experience in distributed systems.
* Experience with approximation methodologies for scalability.
* API development experience using REST.
* Experience in producing technical requirements for financial products.
