An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated andenthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Community NeurologyRehabilitation Team. This is a fantastic chance to develop your specialistskills within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, working with adultsliving with a wide range of neurological conditions across the community.

You will play a key role in delivering person-centred,goal-oriented rehabilitation to help service users improve their quality oflife in their own homes and community settings.

Our Team provides specialist assessment andrehabilitation for adults with neurological conditions such as stroke, multiplesclerosis, Parkinsons disease, acquired brain injury, and other complexneurological presentations.

We are a friendly, dynamic, and forward-thinking teamthat includes physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses, consultants, dietitians,therapy assistant practitioners and rehabilitation assistants. We workcollaboratively to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.


Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

* Providespecialist occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and evaluation foradults with neurological conditions in community settings.
* Use aclient-centred approach to enable individuals to identify and achieve realisticpersonal goals within our service offer.
* Contributeto multidisciplinary care
* Supportself-management, carer education, and equipment provision.
* Superviseand support junior staff, students, therapy assistant practitioners and/ orrehabilitation assistants.
* Contributeto service development and quality improvement initiatives within the team.

The successful candidate will have experience of workingas an Occupational Therapist and working with people who have neurologicalconditions. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and beable to communicate with service users, relatives/carers and other members ofthe team. The post holder must be ableto work under pressure, organising their own workload and under supervision ofothers. Candidates must have an Occupational Therapy qualification at least atdegree level and be registered with the HCPC.

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential thatapplicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have accessto a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can beconsidered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
