The Opportunity This newly created SOC team forms a key part of the organisation's continued investment in its Belfast operations. Joining a close-knit, technically skilled group, the successful candidates will gain hands-on experience across security monitoring, incident analysis, and response, with structured training, mentorship, and clear pathways for progression. You'll work alongside a senior team and technical leads in a collaborative, learning-focused environment, developing the technical and professional skills needed to build a lasting career in cyber operations. Key Responsibilities Monitor systems, networks, and applications to detect potential security incidents. Investigate alerts and escalate as appropriate to senior team members. Support incident response activities and contribute to continuous improvement of processes. Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of SOC activities. Engage in ongoing training to develop expertise in security operations, tools, and technologies. About You This role is ideal for curious, analytical individuals who thrive in team environments and are keen to learn. It's suited to those looking to grow within security operations. Essential Criteria: A relevant degree with around one year's experience (including placement year) in IT, networking, or a technical discipline. Strong grasp of computing fundamentals, operating systems, networks, and cyber technologies. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Full-time availability to work onsite in Belfast (this role is 100% office-based). Sound judgement, initiative, and drive to progress. Desirable Criteria: Experience within a SOC, service desk, or IT support environment. Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g. Splunk, IBM QRadar). Understanding of firewalls or networking technologies (e.g. Palo Alto). Customer-facing experience.
