Role Overview We are seeking a Lead Planning Engineer to oversee project planning and scheduling activities for a major power project. The role will provide leadership to planning teams across multiple sites, ensuring robust project controls, accurate reporting, and alignment with project objectives. Location: Newcastle (Hybrid) Contract Type: Contractor (Outside IR35) Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain the master project schedule, covering all phases of the Project. * Coordinate planning input from engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams. * Ensure project plans reflect key milestones for converter stations, interconnectors, and electrical infrastructure. * Monitor critical path, progress, and productivity, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions. * Lead a small team of planners, providing guidance, mentoring, and quality assurance. * Interface with client and stakeholders on schedule performance and reporting. * Work effectively within a joint venture/consortium environment, aligning planning deliverables with partner organisations. Qualifications & Experience * Degree in Engineering or related field (preferred). * 10 years’ experience in project planning / controls within large infrastructure or power projects. * Strong knowledge of Electrical system, converter stations, substations, and transmission & distribution systems. * Experience working on projects delivered by joint ventures or consortia. * Proficient in Primavera P6/Power BI * Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
