Join a forward-thinking engineering team as a Senior Web Developer, delivering modern web solutions in a flexible hybrid role. The UK operation is based in an integrated engineering office, supporting the transition from traditional energy activities to decarbonised and innovative solutions, including Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS), renewables, hydrogen, and other low-carbon technologies. Main Duties
* Work as part of a multi-skilled Web Development team as a Full Stack Developer, rebuilding and supporting on-site web applications using modern frameworks
* Design, develop, and implement bespoke software solutions
* Assist internal stakeholders with requirements analysis and solution design
* Design, manage, and integrate SQL databases
* Interface web applications with other corporate systems
* Provide end-user support, including bug fixing and change control
* Develop and maintain technical and user documentation
* Contribute to test plans and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
* Deliver training sessions, tutorials, and technical presentations
* Set up and document SQL databases supporting web development
* Promote and adopt new software development ideas and practices
* Ensure all development complies with internal ICT policies and procedures
* Cyber Security – Web Applications
* Collaborate with central teams to resolve vulnerabilities identified through cyber security scans
* Coordinate timely and structured remediation of identified web application vulnerabilities
* Provide prompt responses to global cyber security alerts
* Work cross-functionally with Infrastructure and Service Desk teams to resolve security issues impacting web applications
* Actively contribute to improving corporate cyber security awareness and culture
Technical Skills & Experience
* JavaScript / jQuery
* Java / Groovy
* HTML and CSS
* Grails experience is advantageous
Working Experience
* MS SQL Server databases, including database design
* IDE tools (preferably IntelliJ)
* Spring and Hibernate
* Source control systems (preferably Git / DevOps)
Personal & Professional Skills
* Creative, highly motivated, and proactive
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Experience developing web-based and intranet solutions
* Familiarity with Agile development practices
* Strong ability to gather data and translate business requirements into technical solutions
* Customer-focused with the ability to support all aspects of product development
Education
* Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience
* Demonstrable experience in application design and development
