We are seeking to employ a number of highly motivated and skilled senior practitioners to join and expand our dynamic, friendly and diverse multi-disciplinary teams. This is a real chance be a part of the CAMHS transformation long term plan which will improve the mental health outcome for children and young people.
We have opportunities for new fulltime Band 6 CAMHS practitioner posts in Tameside and Glossop CAMHS, Open to B4 staff due to qualify as B5. These posts are based within core CAMHS, and the duty and assessment team. One of our priorities is supporting our team with their continued professional development. As such, we offer flexibility between the roles to ensure skills and knowledge are offered and expanded in many areas of our service.
Main duties of the job
CAMHS offers a wide range of mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions including family therapy, CBT, DBT interpersonal therapy, EMDR, and psychotherapy for children and young people aged 5 to 18 years. You will be encouraged to explore your therapeutic interest alongside providing a range of quality CAMHS assessments/interventions. CAMHS also has close links with community services which work with children and young people to offer an early help and bespoke packages of care. There are plenty of opportunities to work in a true multi agency way to help deliver a whole system offer that communicates that all children and young people matter and that their emotional wellbeing and mental health needs are understood and supported with kindness, compassion and high quality and safe care.
These posts will be responsible for providing high quality mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions for adolescents and families using evidence-based interventions.
To be responsible for and manage a defined caseload and undertake case management responsibilities within the caseload.
Providing consultation, advice, and training to a wide range of agencies.

Working hours are generally Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, though there is plenty of opportunity to work flexibly as we are looking to expand our opening hours as part of our service transformation plans and work around your unique needs as an employee.

The roles available are extremely varied and as a service we are interested in playing to your clinical strengths and developing your clinical interests and skills. You will receive ongoing support through regular monthly clinical supervision and separate line management support. You will also be actively encouraged to be part of peer supervision and will have the opportunity in your job plan to attend specialist treatment modality consultations. As part of your professional development, you will be supported in pursuing and attending relevant in-house training and will have external opportunities to embark on further professional qualifications relevant to the post.

Education/Qualifications/Registration
Essential criteria
* Registered Nurse -Mental Health, Social Work or OT Qualification or equivalent with regulatory body registration
* Significant post qualification experience in community mental health services
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Knowledge of mental health issues in young people
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and National policies in relation to young people.
* Knowledge of therapeutic interventions with young people
Desirable criteria
* Understanding of Youth Offending services.
* Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues relating to young people
Experience
Essential criteria
* Professional involvement with the users of mental health services.
* Experience of case management of young people
* Experience of multi-agency working
Desirable criteria
* Experience of relating to young people in a group or community setting.
Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
* Ability to undertake appropriate mental health assessments
