Job Title: Fire Safety ManagerRef: Bristol 5273562Pay rate: £426.75 per day PAYEWorking Arrangement: Hybrid role – some home working and some days on site undertaking inspections or attending audits with the Fire ServiceThe role:We're looking for an experienced and proactive Fire Safety Manager to lead the approach to fire safety across multi-occupied residential buildings, from low-rise and high-rise blocks, to Supported Housing for Older People.You'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety of the buildings and the people who live in them, shaping and delivering fire safety strategies, policies and procedures, and ensuring full compliance with legal responsibilities.Key responsibilities:
* Leading internal fire safety projects and embedding strategy into day-to-day delivery
* Driving risk management approach and cyclical fire safety compliance programmes
* Acting as the Council’s strategic lead for fire safety
* Managing the Fire Risk Assessment contractor and associated remedial works
* Providing expert advice, guidance and leadership on fire safety issues across the organisation
* Engaging with residents in high-rise and higher-risk buildings to address fire safety concerns
* Leading on fire evacuation planning for vulnerable residents
* Managing and responding to fire prohibition/enforcement notices
* Procuring and overseeing third-party audits and inspections
What the client is looking for:
* Significant experience of effective fire safety management at a senior level in a social housing setting, with an in-depth knowledge of relevant regulation and British Standards
* Fire safety related qualification, or equivalent, minimum of a L4
* Professional membership to IFE and/or IFSM, or equivalent
* In depth understanding of complex buildings, fire safety systems and remediation of fire safety issues
* Ability to formulate and articulate strategies and plans
* Experience of managing and developing services to improve outcomes for citizens and customers
* Ability to effectively plan and deliver complex projects and programmes
* Ability to lead and manage, inspiring and motivating people across a whole service
* Ability to manage performance effectively and to hold all team members to account
* Ability to plan and manage all finance and budgets to meet performance targets
* Ability to actively contribute to innovation and to take analytical approaches to solving complex and challenging problems
* Experience of using digital technology to deliver and improve services
* Ability to cope well with and overcome ambiguity through use of effective change management approaches
* Ability to work effectively and credibly with diverse and complex stakeholders
* Highly-developed advocacy, negotiation and presentation skills
