Access Control Administrator

An opportunity to join an experienced, versatile team, delivering first class access control service to our world class Armed Forces personnel.

Position Overview

Based in the HMS Collingwood, this role provides a broad and flexible service to meet the contracted access control to secure buildings used by the Armed Forces (predominantly the Royal Navy). Training can be provided, where appropriate.

Main Responsibilities

1. Monitor and control access of all entitled personnel and ensure safe custody of passes at the point of entry, including liaison with pass co-ordinators, building management, and security staff.
2. Open and close building, including security checks and alarm setting and monitoring.
3. Control of keys, the use of security boxes (for mobile communication devices).
4. Accurately maintain associated documentation and noticeboards and ensure the reception area is well presented.
5. Provide necessary assistance in emergency situations.
6. Ensure all activities are carried out in full compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations and the General Data Protection Regulations.
7. Undertake any additional tasks as determined by the Line Manager, including support/cover for other staff.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will be well-organised, precise, confident with credible communication skills readily able and willing to contribute at all levels. In addition, the individual will be versatile, intuitive, and professional with good judgement and absolute integrity. Pro-active and persuasive when required and responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated, the incumbent will be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE company values. In addition, the following is needed.

8. Administration experience with good organisational and motivational skills and a high degree of integrity.
9. Proven track record of delivering quality service with customer facing experience.
10. Persuasive and credible verbal and written communicator with the ability to develop close working relationships.
11. IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
12. Conversant/knowledge of MOD applications and systems (desirable).
13. Proactive approach and the ability to embrace and lead on change.
14. Ability to manage short notice changes to requirements and deadline.
15. Good standard of education.

Additional Information

MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required (Proof of right to work in UK essential)

The Contract operates a 37.5 hour working week between the hours of and Mon to Thur and to Fridays only.

Early Shift - Mon to Thur – to + Fri to

Late Shift – Mon to Thur – to + Fri to

Required to wear approved company work wear.
